Daily Market Brief

16 June 2026

Our Fueltool price tracker has the average UK supplier price at around 84ppl on a 1,000-litre order, falling 18.9% over the three-month chart and dropping to a fresh low today. That is roughly 35% below the peak near 129ppl back on 19 March, and the line has carried on grinding lower through May and into June with only small bumps along the way.

The move lower tracks softer wholesale costs. Brent crude has eased back to about $83 a barrel, holding in the low $80s even with Middle East tensions still in the background, as the market has stayed better supplied than many feared earlier in the year. A firmer pound has helped too, trimming the cost of imported product in sterling and feeding through to the price suppliers quote.

With winter demand long past and the usual autumn restock still some months off, prices are sitting at their lowest level on the three-month chart. Suppliers have been passing the softer wholesale costs through across most regions. Crude remains volatile, so the near-term path depends mainly on how the oil price and sterling move from here.
